Whether a B-town celeb is at the airport, the gym, or a restaurant, the paparazzi are going to be right there with them snapping away with their cameras. While some celebs, like Ibrahim Ali Khan and Mallika Sherawat are known for having a laugh with the paps, others don’t enjoy the attention quite as much. In fact, Ibrahim’s father, beloved actor, Saif Ali Khan is one of the many stars to voice his annoyance with the paparazzi. 

Ananya Panday has now joined the ranks of these stars as she dished on what she disliked about the paparazzi. The Call Me Bae star specifically pointed to a post-gym picture that was falsely painted as breakup blues.

Ananya Panday has had a busy couple of months as she jumped from Call Me Bae promotions to CTRL promotions. It was during one of those CTRL promotions that Ananya shared her blunt opinions on pap culture. During a chat with Netflix India, Ananya revealed that she didn’t mind being clicked whatsoever.

However, what she strongly disliked was the paparazzi’s constant requests for certain poses. Ananya also talked about her discomfort over the paparazzi’s odd habit of clicking pictures of a celebrity from behind to engage netizens in a “Guess the celebrity” challenge. In Ananya’s words:

“I hate the fact that they ask me to look back and pose for pictures.”

Ananya Panday spills on her post-gym expressions being misrepresented as heartbreak

Not too long ago, Ananya was papped leaving the gym with an exhausted look on her face. However, her tiredness was taken out of context to ignite breakup rumours. Calling it a “bad day”, Ananya revealed what actually happened in her usual humorous manner, saying:

“When I was leaving the gym recently, they were like, ‘Oh look, she is so sad. This must have happened in her life. Breakup ho gaya (She’s going through a breakup).’ And I’m like, ‘Firstly, you lift 170 kgs and do deadlifts, then you’ll see.’”

Ananya further emphasised that the gym made everyone look “sad”. She also candidly shared that the paparazzi often overanalyze her moods to create stories, which was something she absolutely hated.

Ananya Panday’s CTRL hits Netflix and receives rave reviews

For the unversed, Ananya Panday’s newest project, CTRL is a cyber-thriller film that hit the OTT platform, Netflix on October 4, 2024. Reviews for the film are already out, with many saying that calling Ananya anything other than the showstopper would do her a disservice.

Even renowned director, Anurag Kashyap took to Instagram to praise Ananya. He shared the CTRL poster and lauded Ananya for giving her “career best central performance” in a lengthy caption. He further praised director, Vikramaditya Motwane’s storytelling in the film, saying:

“@motwayne is out with another banger. Again pushing the boundaries of technology and storytelling. You can not contain the man, or put him in a box. Always braver than everyone around him. For me he has always been the go to person, he introduced me to my first still camera, he taught me sound design and the importance of it, introduced me to MacBook. Always a step ahead of everyone. Now he has gone and made this modern day horror fable.”
