Dalljiet Kaur has been through a lot since she got married to Nikhil Patel, an NRI living in Kenya. The actress shifted continents with her son, Jaydon, to be with Nikhil Patel, but within nine months of marriage, she came back hurt. While initially she thought her differences would resolve, it didn’t happen, and Nikhil showed his true face. Now, Dalljiet shared the shocking truth about him.
Dalljiet Kaur clarifies that Nikhil Patel is not a rich businessman living in Kenya
Dalljiet, who is working hard on herself and trying to heal while exploring the world as her travelogue series, opened up about the most difficult phase of her life. She also revealed that people had a misconception that she married a hot-shot rich NRI man, but he is just a regular employee and everything he has is rented.
In an interview with Pinkvilla, Dalljiet talked about Nikhil and revealed that he is a regular salaried employee. She has lived with him in Kenya for a month before getting married. She added that he doesn’t even have his own apartment, lives in a rented one, with a rented car. She was quoted as saying:
“Aur wo koi bahut bade tope buisnessman nahi hai. Mujhe bahut logo ne bola arre is ne ameer aadmi se shadi kar li. Wo ek job karte hai, wo CGO hai. Ek company hai jo credit deti hai, usme ek employee hai, jo rent par rehte hai. Unka khud ka ghar nahi hai. Unki car rent pe hai, unka ghar rent pe hai. Haan kama rahe hai theek thaak.”
Dalljiet also added that she knew whom she was getting married to and that her son, Jaydon, would be the third child in the family. But she said ‘yes’ as she was yearning for a family and to give her son, the joy of siblings as he is growing up.
When Dalljiet Kaur revealed she has no home in India
Dalljiet Kaur sold off her home of nine years, which she made with her own hard-earned money. In one of her travelogue, Dalljiet breaks down, recalling how she is living a life in a suitcase, but she is ready to restart her life for her own sake and her child, Jaydon. Dalljiet said:
“Mera ghar tha jaha mai 9 saalo se rahe rahi thi. Aur choti-choti cheeje banayi thi us ghar ki. Toh poora ghar ab nahi hai, abhi koi bhi ghar nahi hai. Lekin koi nahi fir shuru krege. Is baar kyunki suitcase se shuru ho rahi hai toh mai ne kaha kyo nahi suitcase uthate hai or pori duniya ghumte hai.”
Dalljiet further added that her entire family is supporting her in this endeavour. However, she is not going to rush to find a home in Mumbai, as she can easily get a flat on rent. She won’t do it at this moment in her life, as she is going to use it as a chance to rewrite her story.
