Manchu Manoj Kumar is the son of veteran film actor, Mohan Babu. The actor has worked in Telugu cinema since the age of ten. Manoj made his debut as a child artist with Mohan Babu’s Major Chandrakanth. However, he got his first lead at the age of 21 in the 2004 film, Donga Dongadi.

Manchu Manoj clarifies the incident where he was portrayed as being intoxicated

The Manchu family has been in the headlines for a while now, and with the fresh controversy surrounding Manchu Manoj, it doesn’t seem to be dying down anytime soon. The family was subjected to public scrutiny following the allegations against Manoj’s father, Mohan Babu. The veteran actor was speculated to have physically assaulted a journalist. However, this time, Manoj has come under the media blaze for allegedly being intoxicated and causing a scuffle outside his father, Mohan’s residence.

If reports are to be believed, it was claimed that Manoj had attempted to barge into the premises. This led to a scuffle, and a video went viral in which the actor seemed drunk. However, Manoj addressed these allegations and has now shared his side of the story.

Manoj Manchu’s clarification post on X

Manoj Manchu took to his X handle and shared a long detailed note. The shared post clarified the events from the day of the scuffle that happened outside Mohan Babu’s residence. He addressed the situation and explained the distressing incident. He recalled the traumatic situation and shared the trouble he and his wife had to endure. He shared that he and his wife were locked outside the home with their nine-month-old daughter inside.  He shared:

“My wife and I were subjected to immense trauma when we were locked out of our own home, with our 9-month-old daughter left inside. After forcing our way into the house, we encountered further aggression. I was physically assaulted, and my shirt was torn during the chaos. Feeling helpless at that moment, I reached out to the press for assistance. To clarify, it was my decision to invite the press, and they are not at fault for entering the house.”

In the note, he also addressed the viral video. Manoj revealed that he had urged Mr Raj Konduru to release the complete CCTV footage from the day. He also confirmed that Mr Kiran and Mr Vijay were arrested and under investigation. However, he urged his fans to allow the investigation to be completed. Elaborating on the events in the video, Manoj said:

“To address a specific detail: during the altercation, an individual dressed in white struck me on the chest, and I responded by pushing him away in self-defence. This incident marks the second attack on me within two days.”

Manoj Manchu denied being intoxicated during the incident 

Manoj Manchu also denied the rumours that speculated him of being drunk during the time of the incident. He shared that he was not drunk and the rumours were an attempt by his stepbrother, Vinay, to damage his reputation. He added that his half-brother has expertise in spinning stories, but he will not budge either.

Manoj concluded the note by accusing his stepbrother, Vishnu Manchu. He claimed that Vishnu had threatened and intimidated those who tried to support him and even went as far as threatening to bring weapons. He also shared that he had done nothing wrong and was ready to face every allegation with proof whenever necessary.
