Shaan took to his Instagram story to pen a long note and first assure fans that he and his family were completely safe. He further elaborated on their harrowing escape, writing:
“Dear all, as the news spreads about the fire in our building… just to let you all know that we are safe. Fire was on the 7th floor, we live on higher floors. To cut a long horrible story short… we are absolutely fine…waiting to go back home once there is a clearer picture from the fire department.”

More on the fire that broke out at Shaan’s building
For the uninitiated, Shaan and his family live in a 15-storey building called Fortune Enclave on 14th Road in Mumbai’s Bandra area. The fire seemingly broke out in a flat on the seventh floor of the building. At 12:57 am, the incident was reported to the Mumbai Fire Brigade, with officials quickly declaring it a Level 1 fire. Swift action was then taken by them, resulting in the rescue of nine individuals, including one male and eight females, from the 15th floor. Another woman was saved from the second floor, while three others were securely evacuated from the eighth floor.
So far, no casualties have been reported. However, an 80-year-old woman, who was found unconscious on the eighth floor, was rushed to Bhabha Hospital, Bandra, in critical condition. The elderly woman was admitted to the ICU as she was experiencing severe breathing difficulties. The latest reports suggest she is in stable condition. The fire department succeeded in putting out the fire by 3:20 am, and the residents were then quickly evacuated to safety. The authorities are still investigating the cause of the fire. Earlier, ANI shared a video of the incident, showing smoke billowing from a window as firefighters and fire brigades worked diligently to extinguish the flame.
We are glad to hear that Shaan and his family are fine and pray for the building residents’ continued safety.
