Arjun Kapoor is the son of film producer, Boney Kapoor and Mona Shourie. The actor spent most of his time growing up with his mother, as his father was one of the busiest film producers in the ’90s when the actor was growing up. Arjun revealed that he would mostly see his father on film sets while growing up.
Arjun Kapoor recalls being on set with his father during the shoot of Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja
In a recent interview with Galatta India, Arjun Kapoor recalled the time he spent with his father on the set of Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja. The 1992 film featured his uncle, Anil Kapoor, and Boney Kapoor’s second wife, Sridevi, and Jackie Shroff. Directed by Satish Kaushik, the film was one of the biggest budget films. However, it did not succeed at the box office, resulting in heavy losses. During the interview, Arjun called his days on the set of Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja as his most cherished memories.
In the same conversation, Arjun Kapoor continued to speak about the film and addressed his late stepmother and veteran actress, Sridevi, ‘Sridevi ma’am’. The actress was the second wife of his father, Boney Kapoor. The duo died the knot in 1996. He stated:
“My entire life with my father was being on Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja set. Even by today’s standards, it is one of the biggest films we ever made. The film cost Rs 10 crore in 1992. It had Anil Kapoor, Sridevi ma’am and Jaggu dada… Jackie Shroff. Anupam Kher was the villain. And there was a pigeon with Anil chachu in the film whose name was Django, and it was my favourite character at the time.”

In the same conversation, Arjun Kapoor revealed that if became infatuated with the film industry after visiting the set of Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja. He shared that the set was where he spent the most time with his father, Boney Kapoor. He called the film larger than life. He stated:
“Roop Ki Rani…was larger than life. It had eight songs, there was a train robbery. His name was Romeo in the film. I was infatuated by cinema from that age when I used to go to that set. And that’s also where I spent time with my father.”

Before Arjun Kapoor, his father, Boney Kapoor, had shared in a chat with ABP Live, Boney that the late actress, Sridevi, hadn’t spoken to him for six months after he had proposed to her. At that time, Boney was married to Mona Kapoor, with whom he fathered two children, Arjun and Anshula Kapoor. Boney later married Sridevi and welcomed two daughters with her, Khushi and Jhanvi Kapoor. He stated:
“It took me four-five-six years to convince her. When I proposed to her, she didn’t speak to me for six months. She said, ‘You’re married with two kids. How can you talk to me like this?’ But I said what was in my heart, and fortune favoured me.”
