Nayanthara’s dispute with Dhanush

In November 2024, Dhanush sent a legal notice to Nayanthara soon after she released the trailer of her documentary, Nayanthara: Beyond The Fairy Tale. The legal notice sued the actress for Rs. 10 crore for the use of a three-second BTS clip from the film Naanum Rowdy Dhaan. The actress called the notice, an all-time low for Dhanush, and in a three-page letter on Instagram, bashed him for his vile behaviour. She stated:

“I am in receipt of your legal notice and we shall respond to it befittingly through lawful means. Your refusal to give NOC for the use of elements of Naanum Rowdy Dhaan for our Netflix documentary might be justified by you to the courts from a copyright angle, but I wish to remind you that there is a moral side to it, which has to be defended in the court of God.”
