It seems like Barkha Bisht is still getting over the shock of her ‘happily-ever-after’ life falling apart after her separation from Indraneil Sengupta. The actress, who has kept mum for over four years, bared her heart out in an emotional conversation with Siddharth Kannan, wherein Barkha showed how she gave her heart, soul and everything to her marriage, which fell apart.
Barkha Bisht shared the reason she thinks might have ended her marriage
Barkha was questioned about what went wrong in their marriage. She stated that she thought a lot about it and realised that she had been very efficient in her life, while Indraneil was completely different and would take a lot of time. She added that they had another issue of parenting style. She didn’t want to be strict with her daughter, but Indraneil thought you must be strict with children.
Barkha stated she got the tag of controlling and dominating. She further revealed that women are often given control if they are independent and have good minds as well. She also said:
“For four years, I have constantly felt that I wish I was lesser in everything—maybe things could have been okay.”
Barkha revealed her confidence crashed when she was trying to save her marriage for two years
Barkha and Indraneil married for fifteen; of the two years, she tried her best to save the marriage, while the latter had given up. She recalled her confidence shattered during that time. She said:
“Exactly aisa lagta hai jab ap koshish karte rahte ho, or same wala nahi karta toh aisa hi lagta hai. That’s why jab Mahesh ne bola ‘You are enough’. Vo isliye bola he could see it on my face. Again Barkha the fearless, the confident, I did it, mai ne jo bhi kiya khud kiya. Jo confidence level tha yaha se yaha, it crashed.”
When Indraneil Sengupta revealed the reason of divorce was difference in personalities
Earlier, in an interview with ETimes, Indraneil stated that his marriage with Barkha fell apart due to difference in their personalities which widened the gap between them. Their perspective on love, family and work changed. He stated that it was the reason he took the step. He said:
“We were extremely different personalities right from the beginning. But over the years, we have become more true to ourselves and that increased the gap between us. Our perspectives on love, family, our child and work are very different. That’s when I felt I had to take this step. In my family, everyone gets cold feet when it comes to separation and divorce. When a relationship is falling apart, everyone, from well-wishers to strangers gives you advice. I appreciate their attempts to mend things.”
However, reflecting on her ex-husband, Indraneil’s words, Barkha added that no person becomes controlling overnight. It is a choice he made, and it led to their separation.
