Nayanthara pens a heartfelt note of gratitude after the documentary’s release
Amid the heated feud between Nayanthara and Dhanush, the former recently penned a note of gratitude by sharing a heartfelt letter thanking industry stalwarts, including Shah Rukh Khan, Ram Charan and Chiranjeevi, among others. In the note, the actress heartily thanked them for taking prompt actions in granting NOCs when she approached them for using some footage of their films in the Netflix documentary. Nayanthara wrote:
“Our documentary, “Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairy Tale,” has now been released. Every film I have worked on, holds immense significance in my life, as my journey in cinema is filled with countless joyful moments. Among these, many films are especially close to my heart, and I wished to include those memories and scenes in our documentary… When I approached the following producers to obtain No Objection Certificates (NOCs), they granted them without hesitation or delay. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to all of them.”
When Nayanthara called Dhanush out on sending legal notice for a BTS clip
For the unversed, Nayanthara got marred into a controversy after South Indian superstar, Dhanush issued a legal notice against her for using a 3-second BTS clip of Naanum Rowdy Dhaan in her biopic. On November 16, 2024, Dhanush alleged Nayanthara for including the BTS clip without permission from him, for which he sued her for Rs. 10 crore. Dhanush’s lawyer’s statement could be read as:
“Advice your client to take down the content infringing my client’s copyright over the film Naanum Rowdy Dhaan by using the same in your client’s documentary named Nayanthara Beyond the Fairytale within 24 hours, failing which my client will be forced to initiate appropriate legal action, including but not limited to seeking damages to a sum of Rs. 10 crores against your client and Netflix India.”
However, Nayanthara refuted these claims stating that the clip she had used in her documentary from Naanum Rowdy Dhaan was shot on their personal devices, making the allegations baseless. She also revealed that her documentary’s release was delayed as she had asked for an NOC from Dhanush for two years before giving up and using the clip. Nayanthara took to her Instagram to share the note she penned for the actor. An excerpt from her note can be read as:
“This is an all-time low from you and speaks so much about your character. We were startled to read those lines wherein you questioned the usage of videos shot on personal devices during the production of Naanum Rowdy Dhaan.”
