Arjun Kapoor and Varun Dhawan are among actors who share a strong off-screen friendship. Arjun recently sat for a candid conversation with Galatta India and shared an interesting anecdote from his friendship with the Baby John actor. He revealed that they used to make short films when they were learning to act. However, things took a turn when Varun, who was supposedly directing the film, showed the clip to Karan Johar where the actor was made out to be a fool.
Arjun Kapoor did not get many projects from Karan Johar’s Dharma Production because of Varun Dhawan
During the conversation, Arjun humorously added that the video might be the reason why he did not get more work from Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions at one point. The actor elaborated on the incident and shared that he and David Dhawan’s son, Varun Dhawan were learning how to act at Barry John’s acting school together.
He revealed that while they were training under coach, Saurabh Sachdeva, the Sui Dhaaga actor convinced him to shoot a short film and later tricked him. Varun had told Arjun that he was the hero. However, when the actor saw the edit, the roles were switched completely. Sharing about the occurrences, Arjun stated:
“Varun made a fool of me. He told me I had a good role in the seven-minute short film. We were taking acting classes back then, and he wanted to direct our final project. I thought, ‘How bad could it be?’ He wrote the script, told me I was the hero, and we started shooting. But after the shoot, I saw the edit and realized he had given himself the hero role, and I was the villain. He didn’t even tell me!”

Arjun Kapoor revealed that he was shocked to see the final film. He added that the October actor, Varun Dhawan even went and showed the short film to filmmaker, Karan Johar. The clip was also discussed on KJo’s talkshow, Koffee With Karan when Arjun appeared alongside Varun. The 2 States actor humorously added that it might be the reason why he got less projects from Dharma Productions at one point.

In the same conversation, Arjun Kapoor recalled the time he spent with his father on the set of Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja. The 1992 was directed by Satish Kaushik, and was one of the biggest budget films. However, it did not succeed at the box office, resulting in heavy losses. Still, Arjun called his days on the set of Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja as his most cherished memories.

On the professional front, Arjun Kapoor was recently seen in Rohit Shetty’s action-packed film, Singham Again. The actor captivated the audience with his phenomenal role of the antagonist, ‘Danger Lanka’ and was even applauded by the critics. The actor will be next seen in director, Anees Badass’s No Entry 2, alongside Varun Dhawan and Diljit Dosanjh. The actor also has a comedy titled, Mere Husband Ki Biwi, starring Bhumi Pednekar and Rakul Preet Singh in the bag.
