Satrangi Sasural couple, Mugdha Chaphekar and Ravish Desai recently left their fans heartbroken after they announced their separation. It was Ravish, who took to his IG handle and shared that they have been living separately for over a year now. Since the last few days, questions about everything not being well in the couple’s life have been doing rounds among their fans. Mugdha Chaphekar and Ravish Desai started as co-stars, then turned into best friends, only to fall in love later
Mugdha Chaphekar and Ravish Desai met each other on the sets of the show, Satrangi Sasural. The couple’s on-screen chemistry left everyone in awe. Not only their fans, but the couple also instantly clicked and started dating. Talking about their love story and what drew them to each other, Mugdha once, in an interview, said that they actually became connected to each other really soon. Mugdha added that she never got that much connected to anyone. She further revealed that they became instant friends, and their mutual love for photography, travelling, movies, and reading connected them further, which turned them into the best of friends. In Mugdha’s words:
“We actually clicked very soon and I never connected like that with anybody before and I am sure the same thing is with Ravish also. We became instant friends and lot of passion for photography, travelling, love for movies, reading and lot of things really jelled well with us and in no time we were best of friends.”
Mugdha Chaphekar and Ravish Desai had a Bollywood-style engagement
It was in 2016, when Mugdha and Ravish got engaged. Talking about the same, Mugdha, in a statement shared that it was a full-on Bollywood-style proposal, wherein Ravish went down on his knees and proposed to her. Mugdha said she was treated like a princess and was really happy to have someone like Ravish in her life. Mugdha could be quoted as saying:
“It was like a fairytale engagement. Ravish went down on his knees and proposed. I was treated like a princess. I am really happy that I have someone like him in my life.”

In December of the year 2016, Mugdha Chaphekar and Ravish Desai got married at a lavish yet low-key wedding soiree. The wedding of the couple was attended by a few of their close friends and family members, and some glimpses also surfaced. For her wedding, Mugdha turned into a traditional Maharashtrian bride. She looked gorgeous in a yellow-toned nauvari saree, which she teamed with a green-toned blouse. Along with the saree, Mugdha wore traditional jewels, including a statement choker, sitahaar, bangles, and nath. Ravish Desai, on the other hand, looked handsome in a white-toned sherwani. For her reception, Mugdha wore a golden lehenga, teamed with a red dupatta, while Ravish looked handsome in a black bandhgala sherwani.

It was Ravish Desai, who on April 5, 2025, took to his IG handle and shared the news of their separation through a picture-note.
In the note, he revealed that he and Mugdha decided to part ways as husband and wife and go along their separate ways as individuals. He also added that it’s been more than a year that they have been living separately. Ravish added that he and Mugdha would continue to carry forward their mutual love, respect, and friendship for one another. He asked their fans to give some privacy to them and not to believe in any false stories.
