Shikhar Dhawan reveals he has a new girlfriend
After Shikhar Dhawan was seen with a mystery girl, fans were curious to know more about her and uncovered that her name is Sophie Shine, and she hails from Ireland. But, neither she nor Shikhar has spoken anything to negate the rumours. But recently, the former cricketer sat down for a conversation at the Times Summit 2025, discussing his cricket legacy and personal life. During the conversation, he admitted that he has moved on in his life (from his divorce). He doesn’t believe that love has not been on his side; rather, he feels that his inexperience made him make the wrong choice, still he has learnt from it. In his words:
“Yes, I have moved on. I wouldn’t say I was unlucky in love—rather, my choices came from inexperience. But now, I have experience, and that will come in handy. It was a learning curve for me.”
His response surprised everyone present at the event, and when asked if he was ready to fall in love again, he admitted that he was always in love. The interviewer took the opportunity to question Shikhar about the identity of his ladylove. Known for his funny nature, the cricketer compared the question with a bouncer in cricket and mentioned that he wouldn’t name anybody, but the most beautiful girl in the room was his girlfriend, which stunned everyone. He was quoted as saying:
“See, I know how to dodge bouncers in cricket, and I know you’re throwing one at me now. But I won’t get caught. I will not take any name. But the most beautiful girl in the room is my girlfriend. Now you can figure it out.”

Shikhar Dhawan got engaged to Melbourne-based kickboxer, Ayesha Dhawan in 2008 and later married her in 2012, two years after he made his international debut. She was 12 years older than him and a mother of two daughters when Shikhar’s fellow cricketer, Harbhajan Singh, introduced them to one another. In 2014, the couple welcomed their son, Zoravar, and the star batsman adopted Ayesha’s daughters. However, the couple parted ways in September 2021 and were granted a divorce on October 5, 2023, on the grounds of ‘mental cruelty’ by Ayesha. The ex-couple had a long custody battle for their son, and Shikhar lost it. He got permission to meet and speak to his son occasionally via video calls. However, Ayesha also reported against it.
