Director Alex Proyas has criticized Elon Musk over the design similarities between Tesla’s new autonomous vehicles and the robots from his film I, Robot. This criticism came after Musk unveiled two new models, the Cybercab and the Robovan. Proyas took to the X platform to voice his concerns, accusing Musk of copying his creations. Social media users have noted a striking resemblance between Tesla’s designs and the humanoid robots featured in the 2004 film. However, many online users disagreed with Proyas, defending Musk’s designs. I, Robot, set in a futuristic Chicago in 2035, depicts robots in public service roles, and the design of these robots is alleged to closely resemble Tesla’s new prototypes. Meanwhile, Proyas is preparing to begin filming his new sci-fi satire RUR in Sydney on October 21.
