Bollywood’s Greek God, Hrithik Roshan is celebrating his 51st birthday today, January 10, 2025. The talented star, who wowed audiences with his acting and dancing, has had a long and illustrious career. Hrithik’s performances in films like Agneepath, Jodhaa Akbar, Dhoom, and Koi Mil Gaya, among others hold a special place in fans’ hearts to this day. And let’s not forget the iconic Main Premi Ki Diwani Hoon, in which his sizzling chemistry with the stunning Kareena Kapoor had the entire nation in its grip. However, here’s something many may not know — Hrithik actually didn’t think his performance in the film was his best and even poked fun at his own character!
Hrithik Roshan took a dig at his character in Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon
Recently, we stumbled upon a Reddit post that shared a video of Hrithik Roshan having a candid chat with fans during a Film Companion interview. During the same, an audience member asked the actor if he had ever found it difficult to embody a character he had played or been in a situation where he really had to dig deep to find a method to take on the role.
Hrithik promptly replied that he had done a film called Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon, which had the audience in splits. He further elaborated on why the role had been so challenging, and sagely said:
“I was not mature enough to understand that side of me. I generally don’t gravitate toward characters which are that far away in essence. A very happy a very uppity ‘Wo ho ah ah’ all that doesn’t come very naturally to me and at that point in time, I wasn’t aware of the fact that there are some things that are not natural to your state. Even if you tried really hard, which I did, you would still fail. But I tried, I gave it my best shot. Have you seen the film. Energy!”
The audience couldn’t stop laughing as Hrithik explained his position, and the laughter only got louder when Hrithik mimicked one of his most iconic scenes in the film. Hrithik recalled the dialogue for the same, “Oh Aunty, oh no,” in a hilariously high-pitched voice. He further added that this high-pitched tone had just naturally come to him when he was in ‘Prem Kishan’s’ character.
