In 2016, the youngster was included in List A for Mumbai in the 2016-17 Vijay Hazare Trophy after making his mark in the Ranji Trophy and becoming the leading wicket-taker in the 2018 season with 23 dismissals.

Once, in an old interview with a leading publication, Chennai Super Kings batsman, Shivam Dube shared that he stopped playing cricket when he was 14. When asked the reason behind it, Shivam revealed that his family was under serious financial constraints, which was why he could not play cricket. However, he started playing cricket again when he turned 19 because he had reportedly started working in order to support his family. He said:
“I stopped playing cricket when I was 14 because of some financial constraints, couldn’t really work on my fitness at that point of time. I returned to cricket only when I was 19 and gradually started to work on my fitness levels.”
