Keerthy Suresh got married to the love of her life, Antony Thattil, after a 15-year-long relationship. It was only understandable why Keerthy shed her happy tears in the surreal photos of her wedding as she was hopping towards her forever journey with her beau. For the unversed, Keerthy and Antony turned Anita Dongre’s bride and groom, and recently, the fashion designer shared some unknown details about the newlywed couple’s wedding ensembles.

Taking to her IG handle, Anita Dongre shared a video of the making of Keerthy Suresh’s wedding saree, which was in yellow colour. The hand-spun and hand-woven kanjiveram saree was personalised with a Tamil poem, which was written by the actress herself. The poem was on the borders and pallu of the saree. Anita Dongre revealed that Keerthy’s yellow saree had diamond needle-inspired geometric checks made with gold zari nature motifs.

The weaving was in the Korvai technique, and the groom’s veshti was also made following the same technique. Antony wore a silk kurta and dhoti and paired it with a matching kanjiveram stole. While Keerthy’s saree took 405 hours to make, Antony’s wedding ensemble was finalised in 150 hours.

Keerthy Suresh’s red-toned wedding saree was her mom’s, which she paired with Anita Dongre-designed blouse

Talking about Keerthy Suresh’s second look, the gorgeousness donned a red-toned saree with silver floral motifs. For the unversed, this saree was of the actress’ mom’s, and Anita Dongre designed a matching blouse for the bride. The maroon-toned blouse had floral motifs made with shimmering zari, and the inspiration for the motif was taken from Keerthy’s mom’s saree.

Keerthy Suresh wore Bharatnatyam jewels for her first wedding, and ruby-encrusted jewels for her second look

For her first wedding look, Keerthy Suresh donned traditional Bharatnatyam jewels and looked nothing less than a dream. Her wedding jewels included Attikai and Haaram, armlet or bajuband, also known as vangi, Maanga Tikka or Netti Chutti, Odiyaanam (belt), and hair accessories such as Rakkodi, Surya, and Chandra Pirai. For her second look, Keerthy could be seen wearing a ruby-encrusted diamond necklace and matching earrings.

Keerthy Suresh wore her nine-yard saree in the Madisar draping style. For those who don’t know, Madisar is a traditional saree draping style of South India, wherein the saree remains tightly wrapped around the waist. This draping style was originated from Tamil Brahmin traditions. As per the old sayings, the females opted for this draping style for lengthy pooja ceremonies, as it prevented them from the urge to eat and use restrooms.
