While some brides prefer gorgeousness, others nowadays are opting to keep their looks and dresses minimal on their special day. A few months ago, a makeup artist revealed how she found the idea of a bride totally wrong as she wanted to do sheen makeup on her wedding day and not gorgeous bridal makeup.

A screengrab of a video of a Lucknow-based makeup artist was shared on the discussion platform, Reddit. The video was titled ‘Reasons why I or many makeup artists don’t do party makeup for brides’. While the makeup artist has deleted the video from her profile, as per the Reddit user, the makeup artist slammed a bride who wanted to do a simple party makeup for her wedding. As per the Redditor, the makeup artist refused to do party makeup on a bride and tagged that to be a ‘charity’. The makeup artist, who has 2.5K followers on her IG, reportedly said that she doesn’t want to do party makeup on brides, as she thinks it would compromise her goodwill, skills, and experience. She reportedly stated:
“Agar aapka budget kam hai toh kisi aur ke paas jaayiye”.
As per the user, the MUA talked about people respecting and valuing the artists. The user argued that if the artist wants people to respect her work, then why she can’t just give in to accept that a two-way street and a person can go along her wish to deck up the way they want to on their big day? As per the user, the bride was ready to pay the amount the MUA charged, but despite the bride’s wish to do a simple party makeup, the artist was charging her the bridal package. Well, sharing the clip, the user asked people to share their two cents on the same.
Netizens slam the Lucknow-based makeup artist who called party makeup on brides to be ‘charity’
As soon as the screengrab made rounds on social media, netizens rushed to the comment section and slammed the Lucknow-based makeup artist. While some claimed that the MUAs, nowadays are demanding way too much, others shared their horrific experience with the MUAs.
One user questioned, “I don’t understand this narrative. Tumse party makeup bola hai toh party makeup kardo na? Why would you make such a fuss over someone else’s choice?” Another user penned, “My two cents on this entire issue: try booking an MUA who isn’t on Instagram since these people spend way too much money marketing themselves and their prices are way too high”. Another user wrote, “The only reason why she does not do it is because she wants more money. There is absolutely no other reason.”
