Malaika Arora had a difficult 2024, as she lost her father, Anil Mehta, and her long-time relationship with Arjun Kapoor also ended. While Arjun openly addressed the breakup, Maliaka maintained her dignified silence and clearly stated that she doesn’t share details of her life with the media. Now, Malaika made headlines for getting a new tattoo on her upper arm, which read ‘Sabr Shukr’.
Malaika Arora revealed the reason for getting a new tattoo after breakup with Arjun Kapoor
Recently, in an interview with The Times Of India, Malaiak talked about her new tattoo and stated that it holds a lot of deep meaning for her. Talking about her recent tattoo, Malaika stated that it symbolises the year 2024 for her. The words ‘sabr‘ and ‘shukr‘ gave her comfort. She was quoted as saying:
“I don’t get them just for the sake of it, they have deep personal meaning. This particular one symbolises the year that 2024 has been for me. The words ‘patience’ (sabr) and ‘gratitude’ (shukr) are very comforting. These words resonate with me when I think about where I am now, compared to where I was just a year ago.”
Malaika Arora further stated that she sees tattoos as symbols of memories she wants to carry forever with her. The last time Malaika got inked was eight years ago after her divorce from Arbaaz Khan. Her tattoo had three birds who were taking a flight. Sharing the reason behind it, Malaika said:
“That tattoo shows three birds in flight, marking a new phase in my life.”
Malaika was also questioned about her dating rumours and whether she is ready to be in love again. However, the diva stated that these are the things one cannot plan, and she is not currently focusing on her love life. She also added that earlier, she wasn’t in a great place, but she is now much happier. Malaika shared:
“I’m not focused on that right now. These are things you can’t plan. I’m just grateful for the patience I’ve had, which has helped me reach a better headspace. I wasn’t in a great place before, but I’m in a much better, calmer and happier space now.”
When Malaika slammed Arjun for bringing their personal matter to the public
Malaika always tried to keep her personal matters away from the media glares, but Arjun’s comment dragged her into the media limelight. Despite maintaining a stoic silence, Malaika expressed her hurt by clearly stating that she didn’t choose a public platform to talk about her personal life in an interview with ETimes. Malaiak also added that whatever Arjun had said was his prerogative. She was quoted as saying:
“I will never choose a public platform to talk about my personal life. So, whatever Arjun has said is entirely his prerogative.”
For the unversed, in 2024, Arjun Kapoor was spotted at a Diwali celebration event with the team of Singham Returns. In a clip that went viral, someone asked him, ‘Malaika kaisi hai.’ However, it wasn’t clear, so Arjun confirmed in the reply that he was single. He was quoted as saying:
“Nahi, abhi single hoon, relax.”
