Tahira Kashyap started her career as a programming head at a radio station

After completing her schooling, Tahira did her graduation in Journalism and Mass Communication from Panjab University, Chandigarh. She also holds a Master’s degree in Mass Communication from the same university.

After completing her education, Tahira began her career as a programming head at the radio station, BIG 92.7 FM. Not just this, Tahira also worked as a professor at Mumbai’s Mithibai College.

Tahira Kashyap made her directorial debut in 2017

Tahira Kashyap went behind the camera and directed her first short film, Toffee in 2017. She next directed a part of the film, Zindagi in Short. In 2024, Tahira went on to direct her first feature film, Sharmajee Ki Beti and got a lot of applause from the audience.

Do you know Tahira wrote her first play in college when she was just 19. It was later published as her first book, I Promise. In 2002, her book got staged as a two-hour play titled Socha Na Tha.

Tahira is a talented woman, who has carved a place for herself in the glamour as well as literary world. After her first book, I Promise in 2011, Tahira penned her second book, The 12 Commandments of Being A Woman in 2020. She published her third book, The 7 Sins of Being A Mother in 2021.

Tahira Kashyap bravely fought cancer

It was in 2018, when Tahira was diagnosed with stage 0 breast cancer. In an interview with the Mid-Day, Ayushmann had revealed that Tahira was diagnosed with breast cancer on his birthday (September 14), and they had to maintain a happy state to deal with the trauma. He had stated that there was no point in crying and he had taken her to watch the film, Manmarziyaan.

After the film, they had come back and had gotten the date for her operation. Ayushmann had been Tahira’s constant support throughout her treatment. After fighting the disease like a warrior, Tahira was declared cancer-free in 2020. Tahira openly talked about her fight with cancer on multiple platforms to raise awareness about the disease.

Tahira Kashyap’s breast cancer relapse after seven years

On World Health Day, April 7, 2025, Tahira Kashyap revealed that her breast cancer had relapsed. Taking to her IG handle, Tahira shared a note penning details about her cancer relapse.  She said that she’s not sure whether it was 7 years of itch or regular screening, but she would like to go with the second. She also asked people to go for regular mammograms. She further added that it’s round 2 for her, and she’s all along ready to fight the same.
