Shivaji Satam was married to Aruna Satam, who was a Kabaddi player in Maharashtra’s team. She had also won the Chhatrapati Shivaji Award. It was a devastating period for Shivaji, and his co-stars, Nana Patekar and Aruna Irani, stood with the actor during the difficult phase. He raised his kids on his own, juggling along with his shoots.
Shivaji Satam started his career as a bank cashier
Born and raised in Mumbai, Shivaji Satam studied at Antonio D’Souza High School and Barnes High School. He later graduated in Chemistry and also earned a diploma in Business Administration. Before venturing into acting, Shivaji worked as a cashier in a bank for over two decades. However, it was his love for theatre which got him into Marathi plays.
Shivaji didn’t play lead roles in Hindi films, but his supportive roles left a lasting impression on the audience. He added layers to his characters in films like Nayak, Sooryavansham, China Gate, and Taxi No. 9211. Apart from Hindi, Shivaji proved his versatility in Marathi films too.
