PETA wrote an open letter to Salman Khan against animal abuse

Bigg Boss 18 premiered on October 6, 2024, and ever since has been a hot topic amid viewers. One of the contestants of the show, advocate Sadavarte, has been a very entertaining factor in the show, and so has his pet, Max, the Donkey, who is dubbed as Gadharaj in the show. While Max has been basking in his newfound fame as a celebrity Donkey, a huge chunk of the viewers and PETA are not happy about it.

PETA wrote an open letter to Salman Khan and requested and that he release the Donkey from the house and hand it over to the authorities. The letter added that Donkeys are extremely social beings, and tying them as stagnant pets is not how one cares for them. The letter further read as:

“We are being inundated with complaints by members of the public who are deeply distressed over the keeping of a donkey in the Bigg Boss house. Their concerns are valid and must not be ignored. As one of India’s most influential stars and the host of Bigg Boss, you have the power to set a compassionate example. We respectfully ask that you use this influence to urge the show’s producers to avoid using animals as props for entertainment.”

PETA even wrote that advocate Sadavarte should hand over the Donkey to the authorities as he is misusing the animal. Sadavarte has kept the animal to research its milk, but Donkey milk should only be used for its calf. They also addressed the fact that the condition in which the animal is kept is not suitable for its growth, and showcasing this on national TV will have a negative impact on the audience’s mind.
