Prime Minister, Narendra Modi was asked about the ‘Melodi’ meme during his podcast with Nikhil Kamath

Prime Minister, Narendra Modi entered the podcast with Nikhil Kamath’s ‘People’ series on January 10, 2025. The conversation covered a spectrum of topics. The Prime Minister opened up about his childhood, education, and work, among other topics. As the conversation reached its conclusion, Nikhil steered to a more laid-back conversation and even hinted at PM Modi’s Italy connection. He was quoted saying:

“My favourite food is pizza. And pizza is from Italy. And people say you know a lot about Italy. Would you like to say something about that?”

Prime Minister, Modi revealed that he is not a foodie

Prime Minister, Narendra Modi then shifted the discussion towards food, following Nikhil Kamath’s original topic about Italian cuisine. During the conversation, the PM revealed that he is not a foodie and that whatever he is served, he just tries and relishes it. He further stated that he wouldn’t be able to order from the menu if asked, to which Nikhil interjected and questioned if the PM could visit a restaurant. PM Modi was quoted saying:

“I am not a foodie. Absolutely not. That is why I relish whatever I am served in whichever country. However, it is my bad fortune that if you take me to a restaurant, hand me the menu and ask me to choose, I won’t be able to do it. No, I can’t go right now. It has been many years.”
