#1. Asha Bhosle’s fight with iconic actress, Sadhana over the garden of the former’s Sangeeta bungalow in Mumbai
It was back in 2012, when Asha Bhosle and yesteryear actress, Sadhana fought a legal battle over the possession of a garden. For the uninitiated, Asha Bhosle owns a bungalow named Sangeeta in Mumbai, and Sadhana lived there as a tenant. However, after some time, Asha filed a legal complaint against Sadhana for allegedly claiming possession of the large garden, which was a part of the bungalow.
Asha Bhosle’s lawyer accused Sadhana of not allowing Asha and her representatives free access to the garden. On the contrary, Sadhana revealed that she has been living in Sangeeta bungalow for the last 50 years and denied stopping Asha from entering the garden. The police accepted Asha’s complaint, but they advised Asha and Sadhana to approach the court because it was a civil dispute. During the conflict, many criticised Asha for filing a legal complaint against the senior actress, Sadhana. However, as time passed, updates about the legal case stopped coming out, and soon, the controversy was lost in time.
#2. Asha Bhosle joined Mohammed Rafi and left her sister, Lata Mangeshkar, giving fuel to their tales of sibling rivalry
Lata Mangeshkar and Mohammed Rafi fought over the topic of ‘royalty for singers’ back in the ’60s. While Lata was in favour of royalty, Rafi was against her suggestion to give royalty to singers. Their fight divided the industry into two camps, and to everyone’s surprise, Asha joined Mohammed Rafi instead of her own sister, Lata Mangeshkar, who asked for her support.
The decision provided much-needed fuel to their ‘sibling rivalry’ reports. Asha Bhosle got married to Ganpatrao Bhosle back in 1949, and the couple welcomed three children, Hemant Bhosle, Varsha Bhosle, and Anand Bhosle. The iconic singer had an alleged rift with her son, Hemant’s second wife, Sajida. For the uninitiated, after some years of their marriage, Sajida filed for divorce in 2010 and accused her husband, Hemant Bhosle, of ‘cruelty’.
Unfortunately, in 2015, Hemant Bosle passed away, and after his death, Sajida accused her mother-in-law, Asha Bhosle, of allegedly threatening her to leave her husband’s residence.
