Well, she fought a hard battle, and in 2020, she declared herself to be cancer-free. Well, it was on World Health Day, 2025 that Tahira Kashyap took to her IG handle and announced that it’s round 2 for her. Yes! She has revealed that her breast cancer had relapsed. Breast cancer relapse is also known as breast cancer recurrence, which is a state when cancer returns after the treatment is done. It takes a few months or years to come back. While it’s relatively uncommon, it solely depends on several factors. Breast cancer recurrence is of three types. The first is local, which means the cancer returns to the same place where it first appeared, the second is regional, which means the cancer comes back in the near area, and the last one is distant, where cancer spreads away from where it originally happened.
Generally, there is a 3 to 15 per cent chance of breast cancer recurrence within 5 to 10 years of the first treatment. In Tahira’s case, it happened within 7 years. Breast cancer recurrence can be diagnosed by mammogram, ultrasound, MRI, CT Scan, PET scan, and Biopsy. Tahira, in her breast cancer recurrence post, has talked about mammograms. As per several sites, the treatments for breast cancer recurrence, include chemotherapy, hormonal therapy, immunotherapy and targeted therapy.
Tahira Kashyap announced that her breast cancer had relapsed
Taking to her IG handle on April 7, 2025, Tahira Kashyap shared a note, wherein she revealed that her breast cancer had relapsed. She said that she’s not sure whether it was 7 years of itch or regular screening, but she would like to go with the second. She also asked people to go for regular mammograms, who are in need of the same. She further added that it’s round 2 for her and she’s all along ready to fight the same.
In the caption, Tahira talked about life giving lemons for the second time, and the victim sipping the kala khatta out of the lemons calmly for the second time. She metaphorically clarified that when it’s the first time people know that they will have to do better, and when it’s for the second time, then they will have to give their best shot again. The caption was powerful enough and reflected that Tahira is ready for her second battle.
Ayushmann Khurrana called Tahira Kashyap a ‘hero’ while she called him her ‘rock’
Apart from being one of the most talented actors, Ayushmann Khurrana is also a dutiful husband to Tahira, and he has always backed her. Tahira recently shared an IG story, wherein she tagged Ayushmaan as her ‘rock’, the actor, on the other hand, called his wife his ‘hero’.
