In a recent interview with the Hollywood Reporter, Tillotama Shome was seen tearing up while talking about a comment that a director made. She shared that she once worked for a director who paid her a very low amount. Well, when the cast arrived for the wrap party, they all were talking, and someone asked Tillotama about what she wished to get. Tillotama shared that she wanted to get an expensive car, thus, she revealed this to her peers. Tillotama said that the director heard this and told the actress that she could never make that much money to purchase that car.

In the same interview, an emotional Tillotama Shome was seen revealing that the director said that she’s talented, but in this industry, nothing is certain. Tillotama said that the words could have been chosen nicely by the director. Well, she didn’t reply back then, but for her next film, she had negotiated for four months to double the money that the director had told her, despite the project being something that she always wanted to do creatively. She sealed the deal with the double amount and texted back the director, who said that she could never earn that much money. She told the director that she had made this deal and asked him not to tell any actor that they can’t do anything ever.

For the unversed, Tillotama Shome is married to Jaya Bachchan’s nephew, Kunal Ross, thus, she is the daughter-in-law of the veteran actress. Well, did you know that Tillotama spent two years in jail? She didn’t commit any crime, but she studied the psychology of people imprisoned in New York. She worked with a male and female prisoner there, and that’s where she learned acting from. She once shared that while working in the jail, she got the idea about human complexities.
